Grid & Graph Archive is built around the pleasure of looking closely.

Anatomical plates. Field guides. Exploded views. Survey drawings. Botanical studies. Comparative charts. Old menus. Scientific illustrations. Printed matter made to identify, explain, measure, catalog, or simply make a subject more interesting.

We borrow that visual language and point it at almost anything.

Hearts and cells belong here. So do coffee, cocktails, flowers, rocks, spacecraft, hand gestures, hot peppers, snowmen, fish, tools, cheese, and whatever else earns a second look.

Every design enters the Archive through one of three visual systems.

ANAT opens a subject up — its parts, structures, details, sections, and peculiarities. GRID arranges a subject through order, comparison, repetition, classification, or geometry. HERO gives one thing the whole field.

The subject changes. The system gives it form.

There is no hierarchy of worthy objects here. Natural history can sit beside breakfast. Astronomy beside coffee. Classical sculpture beside a rubber duck.

The artwork is made to reward looking: engraving, linework, callouts, figure marks, scales, captions, diagrams, and whatever else the plate needs. Sometimes the information is useful. Sometimes it is beautiful. Sometimes it is wonderfully unnecessary.

That is part of the point.

Each design is filed with a catalog number, a subject, and its system before finding the garment and colorway that suit it best.

Shirts and sweatshirts are printed to order, keeping the catalog open rather than seasonal. A new plate can enter when it is ready, and an old one can remain as long as it is still worth wearing.

The Archive remains open.
